Dr. Kilaza has a postdoctoral in bioinformatics focusing on Human-Associated Microbiomes from the University of Cape Town, South Africa. He has a PhD in health and Medical Biosciences from the Nelson Mandela African Institution of Science and Technology, Arusha, Tanzania, a Master’s of Science in Quality and Analytical Laboratories from the University of Algarve, Portugal, and the University of Cadiz, Spain, and also a BSc. Food Science and Technology from the University of Sokoine, Tanzania.
Dr. Kilaza is a government employee serving as a lecturer and head of the Department of Science and Laboratory Technology at Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology, Dar es Salaam. He is also a co-founder and vice president of Tanzania Human Genetics. Organization (THGO), a professional organization that pushes and envisions a Tanzania that takes advantage of human genetics for the diagnosis, treatment, and management of genetic-related diseases.
He is passionate about the microbiome approaches for diagnosis, treatment, and management of both communicable and communicable diseases in Tanzania.
