Member of the Communication Team, THGO
I’m a Health Laboratory Scientist and an early career researcher at NIMR Muhimbili Center, certified in Quality Management system (QMS). I graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science at Kampala International University in Tanzania (KIUT) in 2020.
During the course of my study, at different times, I had opportunities to practice at several accredited clinical laboratories; Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Center (KCMC), and Central Pathology Laboratory (CPL) at Muhimbili National Hospital. After graduating from KIUT, I interned at Amana Regional Referral Hospital Laboratory for a year, enhancing my practical experience and clinical laboratory skills. I also worked at the Central Tuberculosis Reference Laboratory (CTRL), a SADCAS-accredited facility, where I gained experience in advanced diagnostic techniques and high containment facilities.
Currently at NIMR, I’ve gained extensive research experience and am now focusing on molecular epidemiology, eager to study it in my Masters. I have one publication in a peer-reviewed journal as a co-author “Diagnostic capacity for fungal keratitis in Africa – a survey in 50 African countries”.
Furthermore, I am an active member of THGO volunteering on the communication team, learning and sharing experiences in advocating science communication. I’m always open to networking and furthering collaborations in our common areas of interest.
